Spanish Homeowner’s Manual Available Online

Sutherlin, Ore., April 23, 2004 —  Orenco Systems^®, Inc. has published a Spanish-language version of its popular, eight-page Homeowner’s Manual for onsite wastewater collection and treatment systems:  Manual del Propietario: Sistemas de Recolección y Tratamiento de Aguas Negras “En Sitio.” 

The manuals are available to the general public at no charge in the “Online Document Library” area of Orenco’s Web site, at www.orenco.com.  Visitors can click on the “Document Library” link from the home page and then search for ABR-OM-1 and ABR-OM-1-Span.

In addition to advising regular system maintenance, the illustrated manuals give numerous tips for wise system use.  There are “Do’s and Don’ts” for inside the house (e.g., lists of substances to avoid flushing through the system, ways to conserve water to avoid hydraulically overloading the system).  And there are “Do’s and Don’ts” for outside the house (“Don’t dump RV waste into your system,” “Don’t connect rain gutters or storm drains to the sewer or allow surface water to drain into it,” etc.)

The manuals also include a list of substitutes for hazardous household cleaners and a place to record important system facts, such as the phone numbers of the service provider, installer, engineer, and regulatory contact; system permit number; equipment model numbers; start-up date, and more.
