Orenco’s EasyPak is First Pump Package Designed Specifically for Dosing TanksSUTHERLIN, ORE., July 16, 2009 – Orenco Systems, Inc. has developed and introduced a unique filtering pump vault (and pump package) created specifically for wastewater dosing tanks. Orenco’s EasyPak Pump Package includes a low-profile pump vault surrounded by three filter cartridges, a 4-inch turbine effluent pump, a control panel with floats (and adjustable float collars), a splice box, and a discharge assembly, all in a single box. “We developed this product to fill a real void in the market,” said Eric Ball, Orenco’s VP of Product Development. “Until now, there has been no pre-assembled, pre-engineered pump package that meets the specific needs of a typical wastewater dosing tank. Instead, installers have had to buy a dozen pieces and parts in order to make a pump system in the field. And these field-assembled systems aren’t easily serviceable.” Continued Ball, “Typically, a low-head pump is put on top of a brick or concrete block, where it eventually starts pumping the accumulating sludge on the tank bottom. When we open up the risers, we often see a collection of pipes, floats, and cords, sometimes held together with cable ties, clamps, and electrical tape. What we’re offering is a complete, preengineered package of quality components designed for easy installation and designed to last a very long time.” According to Ball, there are a number of other advantages to the EasyPak Pump Package, in addition to its engineered design and ease of installation. The cartridges have 14 sq ft of filter area, protecting the drainfield from solids carryover. And the turbine pumps can withstand the high cycling required of timed dosing, so they’re long-lasting. Consequently, Orenco is offering a 5-year warranty on all its EasyPak pumps. EasyPak is suitable for new installations and retrofits, and packages are available for both timed and on-demand dosing, at a cost that is comparable to a “pump on a block.” Orenco is also offering a free design CD that includes EasyPak Select, a simple software application to help designers select the correct package for their system. |
