Company OverviewOrenco was founded in 1981 by President Hal Ball and Executive Vice President Terry Bounds, to respond to widespread failures in Oregon's onsite wastewater systems. Since then, the company has grown to become a wastewater industry leader, with more than 200 employees and with 150 distributors and dealers representing most of the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Europe. Research, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Sales/Engineering Support are handled out of our 26-acre (10.5-hectare) facility in Sutherlin, Oregon, USA. But our products and technologies have been installed in more than 50 countries, on virtually every continent. Orenco designs and manufactures cutting-edge decentralized wastewater technologies for individual properties and small communities — properties that are not hooked up to city sewers or whose sewers are failing or at capacity. Our wastewater solutions include . . .
Our technologies are highly energy-efficient and allow treated effluent to be returned harmlessly to the environment for re-use via subsurface irrigation or for groundwater recharge via drainfield, lagoon, or constructed wetland. We maintain an environmental lab and invest time and money in a continuing research program, often in cooperation with training centers and universities. Our research and technologies appear in numerous publications, including Crites & Tchobanoglous' Small and Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems, Metcalf & Eddy's Wastewater Engineering: Treatment, Disposal, and Reuse, and S.M. Parten's Planning and Installing Sustainable Onsite Wastewater Systems. Orenco's engineers and scientists have nearly 500 years of wastewater experience among them, and they are regularly asked to give presentations and workshops all over the world. |
