Remote Camps

Orenco's AdvanTex® AX-Mobile Wastewater System is the perfect answer for the mining, oil, and gas industries, or for recreational sites.  Orenco's AX-Mobile can treat blackwater and graywater to a level where it can be reused for dust control, surface discharge, or subsurface dispersal.  Orenco recently provided a solution for remote sites at the Yukon crossing in central Alaska and in northern British Columbia.


Military

AX-Mobile can be rapidly deployed for a military unit on the go and can be configured to treat to levels suitable for surface discharge (e.g. for dust control).  This portable solution from Orenco can be customized to include latrine and shower facilities for a comprehensive camp wastewater solution.  AX-Mobile can be quickly disconnected for redeployment.






Emergency/Disaster Relief

When an emergency strikes, wastewater problems are critical but can be difficult to cope with. However, AX-Mobile can be delivered for quick set-up, reducing the impact on those affected by the disaster, and on the environment too.

An AX-Mobile was installed on this awardwinning, 60-cottage resort on the island of St. Lucia, in the Caribbean. It replaced an old activated sludge plant that was destroyed by Hurricane Tomas on Oct. 31, 2010. Orenco was brought into the project on Nov. 18 and had the system shipped, installed, and commissioned by the resort’s December 20 reopening date. At only 7' (2.1 m) wide and 12,000 pounds (5443 kg), the units were trucked to the site, down steep narrow roads, on the back of a standard flatbed and lifted with a crane. Less than two days after reaching the site, the system was up and running, in spite of power fl uctuations and other problems. This system includes a UV disinfection unit, and effl uent sampling shows it is producing 7 mg/L BOD.
