How It Works: Prelos Collection System

Prelos^® provides an efficient, affordable, and sustainable sewer solution for the thousands of towns across the country in need of sewer infrastructure, whether it’s new, an expansion, a repair, or replacement. The Prelos Sewer Collection System is based on concepts that’ve been in use for more than 50 years.

• Prelos uses small-diameter, pressurized, shallow-buried pipes that follow the contour of the land.
• Mainlines are often installed with directional boring, which doesn’t require trenching, and reduces negative impact to communities and properties.
• Like water mains, Prelos Sewer mains can be “surgically” extended to specific areas, streets, or new developments that need service most.
• Prelos reduces the volume of biosolids and final treatment costs.
• The cost to make Prelos Sewer mains available for connections can be as low as 10% of the cost of gravity sewer mains.

Infiltrator ProSTEP Effluent Pumping Package

The Orenco ProSTEP unit, combined with the Infiltrator tank, delivers a highly efficient, pressurized, liquid-only sewer system for on-site wastewater collection and treatment. Together, they protect, transport, and filter wastewater, making this advanced effluent pumping system ideal for diverse applications. The integrated Infiltrator ProSTEP offers a range of pump packages housed in lightweight, strong, and durable polypropylene tanks.

System Components

The ProSTEP system includes seven high-quality, preassembled components for seamless integration:

1. Biotube Pump Vault

• Available in standard and custom heights.
• Handle assembly offers easy filter cartridge removal.
• Filters last longer between cleanings than other brands.
• External flow inducer accommodates one or two pumps.
• Removable float stem ensures proper positioning.

2. Splice Box or ClickTight™

• External splice box (external mounts flush-to-ground for watertight protection) offers UL-listed NEMA 6P protection.
• Protects wiring and is easy to access and maintain.
• ClightTight connection system option provides preset, easy-to-use color-coded connectors and system cable.

3. Risers, Lids, and Accessories

• Provide easy tank access.
• Strong access points are lightweight and tamper resistant.
• Secondary barrier options are available.
• Additional options are available.

4. Float Switch Assembly

• Provides reliable level control.
• Comes with quick-release stem and adjustable float collars.
• A variety of floats (including mercury-free) and arrangements are available.

5. Discharge Assembly

• Flexible design eliminates hard plumbing.
• Includes quick disconnect (union or cam-style), ball valve, and check valve.
• Options are available for cold weather, deep bury, and special situations.
• Hanging discharge-style assembly with pitless adapter is also available.
• Ensures easy access.

6. Effluent Pump

• Offers 25+ year life with routine cleaning.
• Lasts 3-4 times longer than conventional pumps.
• Capable of minimum 24-hour run dry.
• Lightweight (about 25 lb /11 kg) and field serviceable.
