Build Expertise Through Orenco’s Training Center

August 07, 2026

Earn CEUs and Build Real-World Wastewater Expertise Through Orenco’s Training Center

Hands-on training, live webinars, and on-demand courses designed for system designers, installers, and operators

Orenco® Systems has spent more than 40 years advancing onsite wastewater treatment and training the professionals who design, install, and maintain these systems. Now part of Infiltrator Water Technologies, Orenco continues to provide practical, field-tested education that helps engineers, designers, and technicians improve system performance, reduce risk, and meet regulatory requirements with confidence.

Through live courses, webinars, and on-demand training, attendees can build expertise in both wastewater theory and real-world application. Orenco’s training opportunities and webinars allow folks to stream presentations, attend live online classes, or enroll in an in-person training course through one of its distributors. Even better, Orenco’s training opportunities are likely to qualify for continuing education units (CEU) or professional development hours (PDH).

“We want to give our attendees ideas and information that they can apply right away in their projects,” says Shawn Rapp, Orenco training specialist. “We want to help them learn new things that benefit both themselves and their clients or customers.”

Live Training Opportunities

Orenco’s live courses give attendees all the benefits of in-person instruction. Product demonstrations, hands-on training, Q&A, breakout sessions, and more give learners a foundation for the knowledge and experience they need to size, quote, install, operate, and maintain an onsite wastewater treatment system in a residential or commercial setting.

“Wastewater: What You Need to Know” live training sessions are four-day, intensive courses held at Orenco’s headquarters in Sutherlin, Oregon. The topics include:

  • Residential system sizing and design, septic tanks, and pumps
  • Commercial and community collection and treatment
  • Choosing and maintaining pumps and control panels
  • Operating and maintaining STEP systems

Other in-person courses are hosted by Orenco distributors. The company’s worldwide distribution network is anchored by companies that open their warehouses to train and troubleshoot, answer installation questions, and give one-on-one advice that AI and YouTube simply can’t match.

For those who prefer flexible learning, Orenco also offers free live webinars nearly every Wednesday. These expert-led sessions address real-world design and operational challenges while helping attendees stay current on industry best practices. The next series of webinars include:

  • “Designing Residential AdvanTex®” on Aug. 5
  • “Choosing Tanks, Risers, and Lids” on Aug. 12
  • “Put Controls to Work for You” on Aug. 26
  • “Basic Pump Systems” on Sept. 2
  • “Wastewater Treatment for Tourism Sites” on Sept. 9
  • “Community Sewering with Prelos®” on Sept. 16

“Wastewater Treatment for Tourism Sites” is a popular webinar option, notes Rapp. Presenter Brian Cohen, international sales manager and one of Orenco’s experts on commercial systems, outlines the unique challenges tourism facilities face, like variable flows or being in a remote area. He offers two proven technologies as solutions – packed bed and activated sludge – and compares their benefits.

Courses like these give operators at every level the training they need to know their industry and represent it well to the public.

On-Demand Training Opportunities

Orenco’s nearly 60 webinars on demand will teach viewers everything from “Basic Pump Systems” and “MVP Control Panel Installation and Troubleshooting” to “Liquid-Only Sewers” and “Solving the Nitrogen Problem.” The 30-, 60-, and 90-minute courses range from basic and intermediate to advanced.

Visit Orenco.com, head to the Training page, click Webinars, and explore your learning options. The catalog itself can be filtered by course name, content, and category for quick and easy searching. Each course is listed with its length, skill level, and type.

Of course, beyond seminars and webinars, Orenco’s website can connect visitors to thousands of instructional and technical documents about Orenco’s products and the research behind them. If someone needs detailed guidelines about how to install and maintain an AX-Max® treatment system or to retrofit a riser for a Tank Shield® secondary safety barrier, it’s in the Orenco Document Library. Go to Orenco.com and select Document Library to take you to the search page.
