Effluent Sewer — A Wastewater Collection Solution that is Cost-Effective and Environmentally Sensitive

Watertight effluent sewer systems are being recognized as one of the best solutions for the collection and transport of wastewater to wastewater treatment plants.

They are ideal for communities of any size:

  • New subdivisions
  • Residential complexes
  • Commercial properties
  • Sewer expansions
  • Ecologically sensitive areas
  • Difficult terrain
  • Phased build-out

Orenco has helped hundreds of communities around the world to design and construct reliable, watertight effluent sewers with low-cost maintenance. Depending on the terrain, effluent sewers area frequently just half the cost of conventional sewers, or less.

With effluent sewers, waste flows from the home or business to a watertight buried tank, where it is pretreated. Only the filtered liquid is discharged. Solids remain in the tank for passive and natural treatment. Tanks typically need to be pumped just once every 10 to 12 years.

Orenco (effluent-only) Sewers have been used on systems with up to 4000 connections and can be integrated into traditional gravity sewer systems. Orenco Sewers are designed as a totally integrated package; the system components are compatible and pre-assembled. Each piece is totally guaranteed, and the components are lightweight, durable, and resistant to corrosion.

“I’ve always liked the proactive approach that Orenco takes. I have two criteria regarding any product specifications: the product does the job and the company provides technical support. Orenco excels in both, which makes me look good and my clients happy.”
